The modular panel is a significant
improvement over the stock panel.
It provides any builder
with the ability to easily access and service the instruments, and
avionics, without the need to remove the entire panel.
All
components of the Modular Panel are made of 0.090 aluminum, instead of 0.063, as the
stock
panel. This increase in thickness allows heavily loaded panels,
especially those with gyro instruments, to be much sturdier.
Very often
we hear from builders
whom, once they began flying, changed their minds as to their chosen
instrument layout, but did not want to go thru the trouble and
frustration of removing the old panel to change it. Other builders
would have preferred finishing their airplanes with a simple VFR panel,
and upgrade to an IFR panel at a later date. However, when faced with
the idea of removing and re-installing the panel, decided to
spend more money up-front.
This is where a modular panel really
shines, because it allows panel layout changes with ease. Our
modular panel allows the builder to easily upgrade or change the layout
of the panel by simply, and inexpensively, replace any of the panel plates with almost no
downtime. All of the cutting and finishing could be done at the
builder’s shop, leaving only the transferring of the instruments to be
done at the hangar. Replacement plates for our panels are
guaranteed to match.
Additionally, when
selling your airplane, two things seem to have the biggest impact on a prospective buyer: the paint scheme and the
layout and finish of the instrument panel. With a
modular instrument panel, the prospective buyer can easily re-arrange
and/or upgrade the layout of panel his or her way and be more willing to agree
to the purchase. We believe the modular panel can make the difference
between a fast or slow sale.
